Political Identity

So, I feel bad posting something that will be sarcastic, or depressing, or just plain lame after a feel good spiritual post but, I guess not too bad and I just need to get it off my fingers (normally chest but the words are in my fingers this time).

I think I may end up having a political identity crisis. If the media and mainstream non-logical thinkers get their way, John McCain will be the "Republican" Nominee in the Presidential Election. How sad this will be to have a psycho liberal and a moderate liberal running against each other. I'll leave it to you to assign those titles. If this happens, and I hope that real conservatives everywhere will make a stand so it won't, I will not know what to do. Will I then become the "disenfranchised" voter that I hear so much about? Will an independent conservative join the race after the primaries that will be better? Will I end up having to choose between someone that wants amnesty and someone that wants amnesty? Will the choice be between someone that will raise taxes or someone that will raise taxes? Will the mean Ogre win (applies to 2) or will the left wing real good energetic guy win? Too many questions and no answers that will be good. We need Huckleberry and Ross Perot Jr. to exit the primaries and endorse Romney. Those extra votes will come in handy. Speaking of endorsing....

Is it really a good thing when a pretend republican, kennedy by osmosis, casino dollar wanting governor endorses your campaign? I guess when the rest of America thinks it's a good idea to get as much free stuff as possible so vote for the most liberal conservatives (how is this a phrase by the way) and get that free stuff. I guess it will be impressive for republicans if McCain is endorsed by Ted Kennedy. Either way, Democrats win.

I guess the only difference between McCain and the Dems is military. So that would be a huge swing his direction. So, we would have a strong military and then all the other liberal things we don't want.

Make any sense? Probably not. Oh, I referenced Ross Perot. Do you know who he is planning on voting for? Mitt Romney. So, I don't know if that is a good endorsement or not but, as a business man I thank him for his candor.

Sorry....had to say something.

President Hinkley

Though this is an odd place to put this, considering the below posts are quite ridiculous in the scheme of life, I still want to. The above links are tributes to President Hinkley, from the President to other political figures. I thought a lot about this and have come to the conclusion I cannot pay a good enough tribute to President Hinkley's life unless I do the only thing I know: which is to bear testimony.

I know President Hinkley was called as prophet and apostle when he was so that he would be President of the Church during this time. I know that the process of selecting prophets and apostles is done by the Savior through his servants here. I know that the flawless system works and that the keys to the church are currently held by the apostles, as a whole, until the new President is ordained. The comfort that comes from this is real and, like the previously mentioned testimony, is made evident by the spirit. While President Hinkley will be missed by many I know that the church is still led by the Savior and his servants will do what they need to do to make sure the gospel is spread to all! I am grateful for this.

Mishmash

So some may say that since my Steelers were embarassed by the Pats and then whimpered out of the playoffs I have nothing to say, well, you would be right. But here I am anyway like ESPN: nothing to say but saying things anyway,.ie Skip Bayless.

Fandom - Ty and I are moving up a level in Little League baseball. The unfortunate circumstance of this is that one of the coaches already at this level is the Dodgers. This bums us out a bit as it was a great excuse to say we were Dodgers and an excuse for me to get more Dodger apparel. So now I am becoming what is all too common in today's world: logo/uniform fan!
As we talk about different teams to be instead of the Dodgers I have a hard time because I really don't like any other team except the Pirates and Ty says no way! So through research of logos and uniforms and colors etc. we narrowed our list down to the following teams (in no particular order - Rockies, Indians, Blue Jays, and A's. Basically we are leaning heavily to the Blue Jays as they have a great color scheme and pretty cool logo. <------- did I just say these words? So before you pull my Dodger membership card remember, only 1 team in the league can be the Dodgers. AND NO being the Padres would not be cool. If I can figure out how to put a poll up I will put it up to get your opinion on who our little league team should be. If you want to check out our leagues website go to http://eteamz.active.com/palmdalelittleleague/ .

Super Bowl
Each year the Super Bowl becomes less and less important and more and more a reality show. The "media" is all a flutter over a photo of a guy that doesn't want to be known as a good guy and will tell you or you will see all the bad stuff he does. Don't know who I am talking about? Oh, only the guy they are calling the best qb ever - Tom Brady. If the Giants weren't in the Superbowl I may actually care about who wins. But, who wants to root for the mentally slow Manning brother that is now arrived? Oh I am mixing things here. So back to the Super Bowl (side note, am I going to get a bill from the NFL for using Super Bowl and not the big game or something like it?) I don't care and it will be the easiest time to keep the sabbath day. I WILL NOT WATCH!
Giants---- So now Tom Coughlin is a great coach and everyone loves him. Hmmm...for the past few years players hate him the media thinks his methods are archaic and now he is wonderful? So now Eli Manning has arrived? Believe me now and hear me later, Eli will not arrive ever!! This season, er, last 4 games, is an abboration. He will be pouting and throwing incompletions and picks all over the place as soon as Feb. 3.
